Said The Times: “He hopes that his beloved Flying Scotsman (complete with realistic chuffing sounds) will go farther than the 30 yards it managed on its previous outing, and he even invites the Germans over to compete with their train fuelled by sauerkraut. The good people of North Devon turn out en masse to provide moral support and cheer on the competitors as they reach blistering speeds of over two miles an hour. ‘This,’ says May, ‘is what makes Britain great.'” ✫✫✫✫
