Top Gun Gets Top Specs for 3D Blu-ray
Maverick and Goose soon will be comin’ at ya’ from out of the wild blue yonder like never before.
Tom Cruise’s 1986 fly-boy blockbuster, Top Gun, will land here March 6 on 3D Blu-ray, following a limited IMAX run in the US from February 8-13.
Extras will include:
- Commentary by producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Tony Scott, co-screenwriter Jack Epps, Jr, Captain Mike Galpin, technical advisor Pete Pettigrew and Vice Admiral Mike McCabe
- Danger Zone: The Making of Top Gun
- Multi-angle storyboards with optional commentary by Scott
- Best of the Best: Inside the Real Top Gun
- Vintage gallery
- Music videos
- TV spots
- Behind-the-scenes short
- Survival training short
- Cruise interviews.
The next modern classic to be dusted off in 3D is Jurassic Park, which will have a 20th anniversary re-release theatrically here in April with 3D versions of episodes two and three of Star Wars to follow in October.

I’d love to see Top Gun in Imax but it won’t happen here. It never does.
The Star Wars 3D fims are postponed.
