Trailers: House of the Dragon S3, Spider-Noir, Star City, Off Campus

The season-three premiere of House of the Dragon will be used to help promote the launch of HBO Max in June.
It will stream exclusively on the service from June 22 and land within a week of the platform’s June 16 debut — providing an invaluable incentive for subscribers to sign up.
Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen.
The eight-part season will roll out weekly.

Starring Nicole Cage in this first leading TV role, the live-action series stars Cage as Ben Reilly, “a seasoned, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city’s one and only superhero”.
Lamorne Morris (Fargo), Li Jun Li (Sinners), Abraham Popoola (Slow Horses), Karen Rodriguez (The Hunting Wives), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) and Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin) co-star.

But this time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space programme, and the risks they all took to propel humankind forward.

Where was House of the Dragon on last two seasons, Sky’s HBO channel? I won’t be signing up just for one programme. — Paul W.
The lineup doesn’t inspire me to sign up. Surely subscription fatigue is setting in for viewers, especially given the “cost of living crisis”? There will have to be a good shakedown of streaming services at some stage. — Dave.
Yes, Dave, it’s a particularly tough time to try to launch a platform, even one with HBO Max’s cachet — especially when so much of its content has screened/streamed extensively on Sky. (SoHo was a premium drama channel, HBO has felt like a clearing house.) You say “shakedown”, I’d say consolidation. Cue Paramount Global’s plan to merge HBO Max and Paramount+ if its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery succeeds.
