Travel Guides Too Powerful
TVNZ 2’s season premiere of Travel Guides (Australia) on Thursday proved a bigger winner than Three’s Powerbrokers’ Debate in the core 25-54 demographic.
It averaged 91,099 adults (4.44 rating/24.19 share) vs 76,737 (3.74 rating/24.34 share) for Newshub Nation Powerbrokers’ Debate.
TVNZ 1’s The Great Australian Bake-off finished a distant third, with 46,280 (2.26 rating/41.83 share).
The night started strongly for TVNZ 2, with Shortland Street (83,187, 4.05 rating/23.83 share) challenging TVNZ 1’s Seven Sharp (87,421, 4.26 rating/24.93 share) and thrashing Three’s The Project (60,316, 2.94 rating/18.07 share).
But Naked, Alone & Racing to Get Home (24,117, 1.18 rating/7.62 share) couldn’t race ahead of Three’s The Traitors UK (45,904, 2.24 rating/19.56 share), which also led TVNZ 1’s Would I Lie to You? (22,284, 1.09 rating/5.23 share).
The broad appeal of Travel Guides wound up hurting TVNZ 1 more than Three, with the former’s peak hour demo share being cut to 23.90 vs the latter’s 21.31; the previous week TVNZ 1’s share was 30.06 and Three’s 16.48.
TVNZ 2’s 24-54 share for the night was 17.10.
On Wednesday, TVNZ 1’s The Celebrity Chase (79,182 viewers, 3.86 rating/24.45 share) led Three’s David Lomas Investigates (73,887 viewers, 3.60 rating/18.99 share) and TVNZ 2’s Celebrity Treasure Island (64,806, 3.16 rating/20.41 share).
But at 8.30 Three’s Love Or List It Australia dominated TVNZ 1’s Location Location Location Australia and TVNZ 2’s 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
TVNZ 1’s peak hour 25-54 share was 30.22, Three’s 22.67 and TVNZ 2’s 15.01.
