TV One Teams Coast With Celebrity Challenge

The long-awaited NZ version of BAFTA-winning British hit Coast will premiere on April 19, when TV One pairs it with Bear Grylls: Mission Survive.

Coast New Zealand has the same host as the BBC original, archaeologist Neil Oliver, and will explore our coastline to document our history, people and culture.

It will screen 8.30 Tuesdays ahead of Bear Grylls: Mission Survive, in which the adventurer lets celebrities loose on a 12-day survival mission in Central American rainforests.

This is not the latest season, which went to air last month in the UK with a more interesting line-up of contestants, including Neil Morrissey (Men Behaving Badly, Line of Duty) and ex-Coro St star Michelle Collins.

TV One is screening the 2015 series, in which one contestant had to be airlifted to hospital after cracking his head.

  1. I remember seeing Coast years ago when we got SBS from Oz on the sat on the Tasmania feed until it was cut off. Are they going to start at series 1?

  2. This is Coast NZ, not the BBC original, which I think Choice TV airs.
