TV3 Dumps Sunday HD Shows

After weeks of stubbornly law ratings, TV3 is dumping Sunday night HD series Modern Family and The Good Wife.

It’s just announced a radical overhaul that sees all of its primetime line-up, including Grand Designs and House, replaced with movies, at least for the next two weeks.

This weekend it will screen Men in Black, in HD, at 7pm and Happy Gilmore, in SD, at 8.50pm; on April 17, it will air Alvin and the Chipmunks, in HD, at 7pm, and Shallow Hal, in SD, at 8.50pm.

But the really bad news for HD buffs is the move means Modern Family, which TV3 was determined to turn into a hit this year, probably will switch to Four, and join the ranks of other ex-TV3 HD series now screening in SD, such as The Simpsons, Family Guy and 24.

Expect The Good Wife, which didn’t rate well against Private Practice last year but was given the benefit of the doubt because of the tough competition, to remain on TV3 but in a post-Nightline slot.

I really hope they bring back House soon. The Good Wife is a crap show so It didn’t surprise me that it’s been dumped. They should run double-episodes of House instead of movie reruns again & again.

  2. Surprised that they haven’t filled the slots with HD reality shows.

  3. Glad I downloaded the remaining current series of House.

  4. TV3 dumps on the poor viewer again. Will be downloading the remaining episodes of House.
