TV3 Fast-tracks American Dad

TV3 will screen the latest HD episodes of American Dad! late-night Friday from this weekend.

Season 12 of the Seth MacFarlane ‘toon will air 11.35 after Bob’s Burgers.

The new season will open with a send-up of Groundhog Day and screen here the same week as the US (where it premieres tomorrow).

The network also has been fast-tracking season seven of Bob’s Burgers, although a pre-emption in the US means the November 18 broadcast will now be a season five repeat.

American Dad!’s last-minute addition to the schedule pushes the final of Live From the BBC out to 1.05am Saturday while re-runs of Chopper’s Republic of Anzakistan, which were due to start on November 18, have been shelved.

Repeats of Community will still air 12.05am from November 18.

Friday nights continue to be the biggest bright spot on TV3’s schedule.

After slumping the previous week, last Friday’s line-up recorded the highest audience on the night among viewers aged 25-54, 18-39 and 18-49.

The Graham Norton Show7 Days and the final of Funny Girls won their timeslots in 25-54, 18-39 and 18-49.

MediaWorks also reports The Friday Story and Newshub Late out-rated their TVNZ 1 competition with viewers aged 25-54 while Paul Henry hit a “record-breaking” streak.

According to the press release, the breakfast show has topped TVNZ 1’s three weeks in a row in the 25-54 demo.

“Last week also saw the programme beat its competitor four out of the five days in 25-54, and hit a new audience high mark – with Wednesday’s episode attracting 50.8% of the total 25-54 television audience versus 28.8%.”
