TVNZ 1 Revamps COVID-19 Schedule

TVNZ 1 has axed its Easter weekend broadcasts of Breakfast and Seven Sharp but is retaining the Easter Sunday edition of Q + A With Jack Tame.

The network has revised its schedule as part of a ‘new normal’ for its COVID-19 coverage.

Since the lockdown, its programming has been upended by 1 News coverage of the government’s COVID-19 press conferences.

Recently, these were shortened to half-an-hour and as of today there will be just the 1.00 1 News Special for the rest of the week.

However, the 3.00 1 News Specials will resume from Tuesday.

Being re-instated for this week are repeats of The Ellen DeGeneres Show (2.00 weekdays) and Tipping Point (3.00 weekdays) while re-runs of Highway Cops will air 4.30; Nadia’s Comfort Kitchen will air 4.30 weekdays from Monday.

Good Friday morning additions include Praise Be (6am), Ellen Degeneres (6.30am), Royal Variety Performance 2018 (7.10am), Extreme Chocolate Makers (10.10am) and the movie Paper Planes (10.35am).

Easter Monday changes include Extreme Cake Makers: Royal Wedding Special (6am) and Blue Planet Revisited (6.55am).

Cake Makers also will replace Seven Sharp on Friday night while a repeat of Best of Good Sorts will air 7.00 Monday.
