TVNZ 2 Pulls C**k Off Air
TVNZ 2 is pulling My Massive C**k from its schedule.
The self-explanatory documentary was to have aired on Wednesday night but a re-run of 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (S14a, E9) will screen instead.
No word on why the broadcaster’s had second thoughts about the controversial doco or if the certification breached the 8.30 watershed.
But programmers plainly hoped it would deliver a mega-sized lead-in to the new Kaley Cuoco series, Based on a True Story.
Despite its sensational title, the programme sounds the opposite of tabloid fodder.
“This Channel 4 show about men with genitals up to seven inches around is an often eye-watering watch with plenty of point-and-laugh moments – until it turns thoughtful,” The Guardian said.
“Efforts had clearly been made to give My Massive Cock some thought and gravitas … Questions of agency, vulnerability, social prejudice and pressures rarely asked with respect to men were nosed at but rarely pursued.
“Still, as the sniggering turned to sympathy and crudity gave way to compassion, it felt different enough to be refreshing.”
The Daily Mail dubbed it “jaw-dropping” and claimed “many of those watching were left horrified by the programme”.
