TVNZ+ Adds Love Island Games

TVNZ+ will stream season two of Love Island Games from September 18.

“With former Islanders from the UK, US, France, Malta, Belgium and the Netherlands arriving in Fiji to navigate dating, eliminations and recouplings, in addition to new team and couples’ challenges, Love Island US host Ariana Madix will oversee all the drama,” reads the blurb.

The Love Island franchise has been critical to US streamer Peacock’s fortunes, which is banking on reality and live sport to drive growth.

“We are going to have a portfolio of sports rights second only to ESPN, and clearly the largest of any general entertainment streamer,” Mike Cavanagh, president of Comcast, which owns NBCUniversal, says.

“That’s a significant element of the path forward for Peacock as cord-cutting continues …

“Beyond that, it’s reality TV where Bravo’s Love Island streams exclusively on Peacock, with the most-recent seasons being the most-streamed reality programming in the US over the summer.”
