TVNZ+ Catches On to C*A*U*G*H*T
A wartime satire about four Australian soldiers who get caught while on a secret mission will stream next month on TVNZ+.
Mistaken for Americans, they are captured by freedom fighters and produce a hostage video that goes viral.
When the soldiers reach celebrity status on social media, they realise that being caught might just be the best thing that could’ve happened to them.
C*A*U*G*H*T (full October 2) is a Stan Original series starring Kick Gurry, Ben O’Toole, Lincoln Younes, Alexander England and Erik Thomson as well as Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, Matthew Fox and Tuppence Middleton.
It premieres September 28 on Stan and also launches next month on ITVX in the UK.
Other TVNZ+ newcomers to watch for include:
- Sneakerholics (full season, October 6), which reveals NZ’s “sickest sneaker enthusiasts”
- chat show Cubicle Confessions (full season, September 29), in which Liv McKenzie and celebrity guests “dish the dirt on some outrageously shocking anonymous confessions”
- The Killing Kind (full season, September 30), a Paramount+ series about a criminal defence lawyer who believes she’s being targeted by a killer: can she trust a dangerous former client who claims he can protect her?
Radio Times thought The Killing Kind superior to another P+ stalker-themed psychological drama, Fatal Attraction, but “a lack of subtlety holds The Killing Kind back from feeling like a true prestige drama, instead relegating it to a category of more frivolously entertaining fare.”
Concurred The Guardian: “This is not TV concerned with plausibility, but it is ripe, pulpy melodrama all the same.”
