TVNZ wins Media Business of the Year at the Beacon Awards |
TVNZ has been named Media Business of the Year at the 2026 Beacon Awards, one of New Zealand’s top advertising and marketing industry awards. Organised by the Commercial Communications Council, the Beacon Awards recognise the smart thinking behind how ideas are planned, placed and delivered across channels in New Zealand. The Media Business of the Year award acknowledges the business that has set a clear vision and strategy and successfully delivered on it. TVNZ Chief Executive, Jodi O’Donnell said the award was recognition of the transformation underway across the business. “I’m incredibly proud of our team for receiving this award. It’s a reflection of the enormous effort from people right across TVNZ, our commitment to putting audiences first, and our ability to turn ambition into meaningful results. “Over the past 12 months we’ve made significant progress on our Digital+ 2030 Strategy. “We successfully launched our new TVNZ+ platform, introduced our first paid product with FIFA World Cup 2026, strengthened our data and AI capabilities, and continued to evolve how we serve audiences across Aotearoa.” In addition to winning Media Business of the Year, TVNZ was named a finalist for Sales Team of the Year and in the DEI Community Engagement category for its My First Whare campaign with Westpac. TVNZ partners also took home bronze, silver and gold awards on the night, reflecting how working closely with TVNZ creates winning campaigns. O’Donnell said, “Our teams take real pride in delivering content that resonates with and adds value to New Zealanders. “That ambition is shared by our partners as well, and I want to thank them for backing us, challenging us, and innovating alongside us. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together and we’re looking forward to the opportunities that are ahead. “I’d also like to congratulate the other winners and finalists, and thank the sponsors, judges, and the Commercial Communications Council for delivering another fantastic event. “In an industry that never stands still, it’s important to take a moment to recognise great work and the people behind it.” |
