Wakefield Beats the Competition
TVNZ 1’s documentary about Britain’s most notorious prison, HMP Wakefield: Evil Behind Bars, was a Monday night crowdpleaser.
It won the 8.30 hour in the crucial 25-54 demographic with 3.33 rating/28.78 share (or 68,256 viewers).
TVNZ 2’s The Rookie trailed with a 2.27 rating/14.84 share (or 46,659 viewers) while Three’s 9-1-1 finished third with a 1.15 rating/8.22 share (or 23,507 viewers).
The latter’s lead-in, the penultimate episode of Tracked, hit a season-low 1.57 rating/7.71 share against a buoyant Fair Go (5.05 rating/30.70 share) and Border Security (3.94 rating/25.61 share) on TVNZ 1.
TVNZ 2’s MasterChef Australia averaged a 3.58 rating/20.66 share.
TVNZ 1’s 20/20 won the 9.30 hour with a 1.34 rating/20.58 share while The Rookie: Feds topped a 9-1-1 re-run.
The most-watched 25-54 programmes of the night were: 1 News, The Chase (5.30), Seven Sharp, Fair Go, Border Security, Newshub Live at 6pm, Shortland Street, MasterChef Australia and HMP Wakefield: Evil Behind Bars.
The biggest 25-54 channel shares were: TVNZ 1, 35.60; TVNZ 2, 19.96; Three, 14.00; Prime, 3.74; Duke, 3.42; Eden, 2.98; Bravo, 2.51; Rush, 1.69; HGTV, 0.90.
