Who’s Fair Game in Thrones Finale?
Monday’s season finale of Game of Thrones, The Winds of Winter (SoHo, 1.00/8.30), could be game over for key characters.
“Given the fast pace of the season and the important events unfolding, it’s likely serious changes are inbound,” Deadline Hollywood reckons. “Which means, as it always does, the certain death of several characters.
“We can probably rule out doom for Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and Jaime Lannister.
“Actors Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau were all reported this week to have secured big new deals through a potential season eight.
“But everyone else is fair game.”
The 69-minute episode was directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who helmed last week’s epic Battle of the Bastards, which took two months to shoot (with at least a month of that spent on the battlefield).
“Considering his previous instalments in the series, The Gift (which saw Dany and Tyrion’s first meeting) and Hardhome (its reputation speaks for itself), Sapochnik brings event-level expectations with him for the finale,” says The Hollywood Reporter.
“Even without the benefit of knowing future events from George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire, the novel series on which the show is based, there’s plenty we do know about the upcoming finale …
“Unlike past finales, which often serve as reflections on the previous nine episodes and a look forward at the year ahead, actor Liam Cunningham (above) tells THR to expect something different: ‘It’s not a recap. It isn’t, “Here’s what’s to come in season seven.”
“‘There are very big events that are going to happen.'”
When asked how to describe the final episode, THR says Sapochnik responded with nothing more than a simple fatal phrase: “People die.”
If you want more details, view the HBO trailer or see Reddit, where The Telegraph reports, as part of a story on GoT spoilers (including a revenge app), “a host of behind-the scenes season six ‘leaks’ hit the internet months ago.
“True, their accuracy isn’t guaranteed – but a number of the predictions made about episodes to date, including last week’s Battle of The Bastards, have been spot on.”

Last week’s episode was hard to beat, well they pulled it of, very rarely is a season final that satisfying.
