X Factor UK Gains After Debut
TVNZ 1’s Friday night launch of The X Factor UK was walloped by the season premiere of Three’s The Graham Norton Show but won its Saturday night slot.
The 90-minute premiere averaged 3.6% of TVNZ 1’s core audience, 25-54 year-olds, whereas episode two averaged 4.4%.
The premiere faced the double-whammy of TVNZ 2’s The Middle (4.3%), which continues to rate well as a 7.30 re-run, and Norton, which averaged 7.2% and helped 7 Days to average a stoking 8.3% from 9.00-9.45.
TVNZ 2’s Take Me Out averaged 2.6% of 25-54 and lead-out Love Island, 1.7%, with both shows overlapping Coronation Street (1.5%).
The outcome was the same in the 18-49 demographic, with 2.7% tuning into X Factor compared to 4.1% for The Middle, 4.9% for Norton and 6.2% for 7 Days.
Three went on to win the night in the 25-54 demo but Sky edged it out for the 18-49 vote.
On Saturday, Factor won in both the 25-54 and 18-49 demos, off the back of the premiere of Moving Out With Tamati averaging 6.1% and 4.7% respectively to win its slot.
TVNZ 2 dominated later, with the movie Horrible Bosses averaging 3.2% of 25-54 and 3.0% of 18-49 after Eight Below’s 3.1%/2.4%.
Three trailed with Nim’s Island averaging 2.8% of 25-54 and 1.8% of 18-49, and Cruel Intentions averaging 1.3% and 1.1%.
